Am I right in that the beanie-baby rhinocerous is something they chew on? Well, then it makes purrfect sense that putting something they chew on into the bowl where food (that they chew on) should be is a clear sign of "feed me now!"
Actually, the beanie-baby rhinocerous is BadCat's favorite "fling-me-in-the-air-and-catch-me" toy. Now if you can connect THOSE dots, more power to ya. :)
My cat preferred to throw the "Pound Purry" aka "the kitty's kitty" into the toilet. Althought I don't think she was trying to tell me she was hungry. She'd tell me she was hungry by leading me to the kitchen and her not quite empty bowl. If I happened to turn into the bathroom rather than follow her straight to the kitchen she'd meow at me and come back to get me. It was the funniest thing ever. It is not our place to question the logic of the feline, our place is simply to feed them, clean their toilet box and love them, but only when they want to be loved.
That's cute. My cat Jack is noisy when he i shungray. He's too fat right now, and I am trying to put him on a diet. So as retaliation, he eats it all in the afternoon, and then cries everytime I waslk past the food bowl at night.
In the morning the little freak gets in to bed with Beloved and I, bies out ears, purrs loudly, follows us to the shower, crying the who time, and then in to the kitchen. He won't stop crying until you feed him.
And Idon't mean the occasional meow, either. Its a constant 'weeeer mrwow, weeeerrr'.
How about this: BadCat is going on strike from playing fling-the-rhino-in-the-air-and-catch-it until you start giving him more food? I'd be happy if my cats actually chewed the food.

My cat does that too, with her little catnip pompoms. I always thought she was so clever, putting "food" with food.

ReplyDeleteDunno about the rhino fetish. Mine just nip me in the leg when they're hungry, even though the bowl's not even empty...
ReplyDeleteI need a new Fling-Me-in-The-Air-And-Catch-Me-Toy...no idea what happened to Joe's red floppy fish.
There is currently barf on the pillow that was right next to my head.
