You know, I've been thinking about what it is that I love about your writing. I think that it has a flow to it...you get the sense of how this time in your life was momentous, but also so routine. It's not melodramatic or judgemental, and it just allows the reader to take in the experience. It's dysphoric and dark and taps into a lot of personal pain.
I'm especially struck with how you and JP shared this idea of being fated for greatness all in the midst of seeming to lose it all.
That was one of the best parts--we were convinced that when (not if) we attained that greatness, our epic losing-it-all would be part of the myth. We were going to be the ultimate triumphant bad example.
